The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kleanthis Manousaridis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Tinoco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. After some careless play in the Toutourouki f.c. defense, Elano Andrade kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tolis Mantouvalos. The Toutourouki f.c. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tolis Mantouvalos should have stopped the shot. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Christos Taktikos the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Toutourouki f.c. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Christos Taktikos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Tolis Mantouvalos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eduardo Vargas went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. Curicó-Unido made a substitution.
