Östen Unesson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 3rd minute, Edgard Cabral sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Rank 1's Marcus Hagström didn't even have to move. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edgard Cabral in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcus Hagström saved Rank 1 from getting behind. In the 7thth minute of the game Edgard Cabral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rank 1's Marcus Hagström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dick Lindgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mané Quirino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conny Vesterberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabiano Antonini in the 21st minute of play. When Edgard Cabral came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Goiás Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgard Cabral couldn't finish the play. 26 minutes into the match, Rank 1's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Cabral came free, but Marcus Hagström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dick Lindgren in the 28th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Dick Lindgren left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rank 1 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Osmar de Moraes hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Marcus Hagström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Dick Lindgren scored 0-2 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mané Quirino, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Conny Vesterberg to make the kick off. Mané Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conny Vesterberg in the 51st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Cabral in the 56th minute of play forced Rank 1's goalkeeper Marcus Hagström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Goiás Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Benigno Ixona hit a great ball. With a little luck, Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino got control of the ball when Conny Vesterberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Osmar de Moraes in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcus Hagström saved Rank 1 from getting behind. In the 61st minute of the match Goiás Esporte Clube got a corner. Rank 1's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edgard Cabral ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Goiás Esporte Clube's Edgard Cabral to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcus Hagström despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Goiás Esporte Clube's zone, Fabiano Antonini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mané Quirino came out of the goal and Fabiano Antonini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edgard Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Hagström having to interfere. Mané Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabiano Antonini, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 78th minute Conny Vesterberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 79 minutes, Mané Quirino successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Mané Quirino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mané Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conny Vesterberg in the 82nd minute of the match. Mané Quirino made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Dick Lindgren sent off a good shot on target. Fabiano Antonini could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Mané Quirino made a huge save. Edgard Cabral took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcus Hagström. Marcus Hagström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 94th minute, Edgard Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
