Beto Teixeira made an important save on a dangerous shot by George Hägglund in the 4th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Gärsnäs BF's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Arce came free, but Wang Cheng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frederick Griscti got free with Beto Teixeira in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Frederick Griscti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Beto Teixeira made a huge save. 17 minutes into the match, Gärsnäs BF's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Miranda came free, but Wang Cheng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Beto Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dane Friebe in the 18th minute of the match. Wang Cheng came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Itajaí Football Club's Li Wen Mo. But to his dismay, Li Wen Mo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Wang Cheng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Severo, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Gärsnäs BF's Wang Cheng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Li Wen Mo in the 25th minute of play. Li Wen Mo took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wang Cheng. Wang Cheng dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Wang Cheng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Varela in the 29th minute of play. In the 32nd match minute, Gärsnäs BF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tord Lang to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Gärsnäs BF's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Arce came free, but Wang Cheng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute Conrado Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wang Cheng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Leonardo Varela ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wang Cheng was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. 45 minutes into the match, Li Wen Mo notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Gärsnäs BF's Wang Cheng. Wang Cheng was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Conrado Miranda to make the kick off. Itajaí Football Club's Beto Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dane Friebe in the 52nd minute of play. Gärsnäs BF's Wang Cheng proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Gärsnäs BF from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Itajaí Football Club's Conrado Miranda slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wang Cheng. That made the score 1-5 after 54 minutes of play. Leonardo Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Wang Cheng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Itajaí Football Club's Rubens Abreu was substituted for Conrado Miranda. Itajaí Football Club made a substitution. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Itajaí Football Club eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
