Spectators: 7467 (Terracing: 5601, Seating: 1717, VIP seats: 149) Atlético Mineiro's Olívio França started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Atlético Mineiro's Olívio França nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anton Brander made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 8th minute, Beppe Perazzolo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anton Brander didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Olívio França went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Olívio França scored 0-4 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anton Brander, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Olívio França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Anton Brander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th match minute, Amaranthus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinaldo Jaen to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute, Olívio França made a precise shot to the right of Anton Brander. Amaranthus's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. In the 35th minute, Reinaldo Jaen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Amaranthus's zone, César de Queiroz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anton Brander came out of the goal and César de Queiroz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 47 played minutes Amaranthus got a freekick which was hit by Emil Frisck. Disappointed in the 1-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reinaldo Jaen to make the kick off. Olívio França recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinaldo Jaen in the 60th minute of play forced Atlético Mineiro's goalkeeper Fynn John to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. César de Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Anton Brander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Olívio França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomé Brasil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Atlético Mineiro's César de Queiroz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Anton Brander. That made the score 1-6 after 71 minutes of play. Atlético Mineiro's Walmyr Guimarães was substituted for César de Queiroz. Anton Brander made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olívio França in the 85th minute. Fynn John showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reinaldo Jaen in the 93rd minute of the match. The Amaranthus fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Atlético Mineiro were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
