Edgard de Almeida made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Theo Hayles sent off a good shot on target. Theo Hayles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard de Almeida having to interfere. The corner led Club Sportivo Italiano's Luisito Bikendi to fire away a dangerous shot which Edgard de Almeida despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Leon Egun kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Theo Hayles in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Edgard de Almeida, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. André Luís Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Evelio Pes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulão Medeiros's late challenge caught a Club Sportivo Italiano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulão Medeiros helped the player get up and apologised. If Evelio Pes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Theo Hayles's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Edgard de Almeida skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

51 minutes into the game, Paulão Medeiros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Reynaldo Stephen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Evelio Pes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Evelio Pes notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Montesclarense E.C.'s Edgard de Almeida. Edgard de Almeida was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Montesclarense E.C. getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Gonçalo Diniz hit a great ball. Reynaldo Stephen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Luís Schmidt in the 72nd minute of play forced Club Sportivo Italiano's goalkeeper Reynaldo Stephen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgard de Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evelio Pes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th minute Marcos Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Stephen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Montesclarense E.C. booed when Club Sportivo Italiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evelio Pes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th match minute, Montesclarense E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Luís Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Montesclarense E.C. getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Marcos Eger hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Montesclarense E.C.'s Zé Carlos Tasso got a free kick in the 91st minute. André Luís Schmidt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Reynaldo Stephen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 97 minutes Montesclarense E.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luisito Bikendi who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Basilio Araoz heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Club Sportivo Italiano had won after a very even match.
