Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Peder Eriksson in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Artemio Domenech prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Maju Gigante who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Miloslav Rožnovský when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 23rd minute, A.J. Reitsma hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute of the match Roth Beaudry sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Artemio Domenech skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the Boca Gregorian Juniors defense, Peder Eriksson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Artemio Domenech. The Boca Gregorian Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Artemio Domenech should have stopped the shot. Saverio Otsoa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Villa Ballester FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Saverio Otsoa hit a great ball. Maju Gigante succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 41st playminute. A.J. Reitsma hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Artemio Domenech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peder Eriksson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sylwester Domaradzki stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maju Gigante in the 54th minute of play forced Villa Ballester FC's goalkeeper Miloslav Rožnovský to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Villa Ballester FC defense, Maju Gigante kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Miloslav Rožnovský. The Villa Ballester FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miloslav Rožnovský should have stopped the shot. Johannes Boon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miloslav Rožnovský having to interfere. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Maju Gigante sped through Villa Ballester FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Miloslav Rožnovský. 71 minutes into the match, Villa Ballester FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sébastien Haller came free, but Miloslav Rožnovský reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Artemio Domenech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sylwester Domaradzki, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. If Peder Eriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 80 played minutes Villa Ballester FC got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Galtero. Boca Gregorian Juniors made a substitution. Demy Salens replaced Wilfried Westerhof. The tension between the Villa Ballester FC and the Boca Gregorian Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 96th minute Lucjan Zurawski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miloslav Rožnovský saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 6-1 became the score in the 98th minute when Sébastien Haller elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Villa Ballester FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
