Wilfried Westerhof ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 14th minute Wilfried Westerhof shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesse McJames saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boca Gregorian Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Smiddy Celts the free kick. Jesse McJames came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Boca Gregorian Juniors's Hans-Cees Dirks. But to his dismay, Hans-Cees Dirks quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After the first half Boca Gregorian Juniors were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Maju Gigante in the 53rd minute of play forced Smiddy Celts's goalkeeper Jesse McJames to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute, Wilfried Westerhof got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Boca Gregorian Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Graeme Gordon came free, but Artemio Domenech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Boca Gregorian Juniors supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Boca Gregorian Juniors would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
