In the 12th minute, FC LIVERPOOL's Ahmet Rıfat Nurdag seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ahmet Rıfat Nurdag the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC LIVERPOOL protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ahmet Rıfat Nurdag had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Gonzalo Jurdan scored 0-2 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Thompson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 46 played minutes XV de Piracicaba got a freekick which was hit by Yuri Tasso. After the first half XV de Piracicaba were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Tommy Thompson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remo Goiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. XV de Piracicaba's Fonso Zotillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennis Bergkamp in the 63rd minute of play. Dennis Bergkamp's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fonso Zotillo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Petre Petrean hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. If Dennis Bergkamp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tommy Thompson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eurico Novaes in the 72nd minute. In the 74th minute, 徐海枫 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. XV de Piracicaba made a substitution. Andrew Tongson replaced Mateus Pimenta. The supporters of XV de Piracicaba booed when FC LIVERPOOL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. 徐海枫 didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 85 minutes of play, FC LIVERPOOL's Dennis Bergkamp made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fonso Zotillo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fonso Zotillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dennis Bergkamp in the 90th minute of play. In the 90thth minute of the game Dennis Bergkamp who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but XV de Piracicaba's Fonso Zotillo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
