Dundee Rovers's Brandon Borthwick proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Dundee Rovers from getting a goal against them. In the 5th minute of the match Almaröds FF got a corner. Dundee Rovers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alvaro Cremonese ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Dundee Rovers's goalie and right to Alex Påk. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Dundee Rovers's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Brandon Borthwick didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mikael Ståhlberg went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Guy McInroy kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. A collision led to Dundee Rovers getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Guy McInroy hit a great ball. Brandon Borthwick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikael Ståhlberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After a rather tough play, Dundee Rovers's Guy McInroy got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute, Mikael Ståhlberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Almaröds FF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mikael Ståhlberg in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brandon Borthwick prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mikael Ståhlberg in the 29th minute of play forced Dundee Rovers's goalkeeper Brandon Borthwick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 34 minutes, Mikael Ståhlberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Almaröds FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mikael Ståhlberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mark Porst fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brandon Borthwick having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Mikael Ståhlberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Almaröds FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Mikael Ståhlberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brandon Borthwick breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mikael Ståhlberg to make the kick off. In the 56th match minute, Dundee Rovers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William McJames to maneuver through the defense. Mark Porst sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Almaröds FF booed when Dundee Rovers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guy McInroy didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mikael Ståhlberg in the 60th minute of play forced Dundee Rovers's goalkeeper Brandon Borthwick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Mikael Ståhlberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brandon Borthwick. Dundee Rovers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mikael Ståhlberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Mikael Ståhlberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brandon Borthwick having to interfere. In the 73rd minute Nick McDonachie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tytus Wyrzykowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brandon Borthwick came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Almaröds FF's Mikael Ståhlberg. But to his dismay, Mikael Ståhlberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Oliver McIlvride kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The supporters of Dundee Rovers booed when Almaröds FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvaro Cremonese didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Dundee Rovers's Guy McInroy got a free kick in the 86th minute. A collision led to Dundee Rovers getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. William McJames hit a great ball. When Alvaro Cremonese came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Almaröds FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alvaro Cremonese couldn't finish the play. Brandon Borthwick came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Almaröds FF's Mikael Ståhlberg. But to his dismay, Mikael Ståhlberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Tytus Wyrzykowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gus Simpson in the 94th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Dundee Rovers players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Almaröds FF.
