The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Ben Wisgerhof left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Beetje Moe Re-United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in PUNTARENAS F.C's zone, Ben Wisgerhof stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgilio Rojas came out of the goal and Ben Wisgerhof tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 7thth minute of the game Chucky Norris who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Beetje Moe Re-United's Jelte Zevenberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 7 minutes, Chucky Norris made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Beetje Moe Re-United's Jelte Zevenberg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Beetje Moe Re-United's Arturo Porreca in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PUNTARENAS F.C's goalie prevented a goal. Virgilio Rojas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ben Wisgerhof in the 17th minute. Ben Wisgerhof received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Virgilio Rojas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 21 minutes, Marco Hegeman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beetje Moe Re-United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Hegeman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Virgilio Rojas made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Benjamin Heck sent off a good shot on target. The corner led Beetje Moe Re-United's Marco Hegeman to fire away a dangerous shot which Virgilio Rojas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Virgilio Rojas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Porreca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benjamin Heck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgilio Rojas having to interfere. Marco Hegeman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Gaueko in the 32nd minute of play forced Beetje Moe Re-United's goalkeeper Jelte Zevenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 35 minutes, Ben Wisgerhof managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Porreca in the 41st minute of play forced PUNTARENAS F.C's goalkeeper Virgilio Rojas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes in the game, Arturo Porreca dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benjamin Heck made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Hegeman in the 53rd minute of play forced PUNTARENAS F.C's goalkeeper Virgilio Rojas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute, Benjamin Heck made a precise shot to the right of Virgilio Rojas. PUNTARENAS F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. In the 66th minute, Chucky Norris reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jelte Zevenberg. The goal made the score 2-3. Beetje Moe Re-United's Jurgen Kruijs was substituted for Menno Riemers. PUNTARENAS F.C's Virgilio Rojas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Heck in the 76th minute of play. Ralph Averdijk hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Beetje Moe Re-United made a substitution. Mark Klaasens replaced Benjamin Heck. PUNTARENAS F.C made a substitution. Leopoldo Nuñez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Jelte Zevenberg made a huge save. 84 minutes into the match, Beetje Moe Re-United's goalkeeper Jelte Zevenberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Nuñez. 87 minutes into the match, Wilfredo Nesto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Virgilio Rojas. PUNTARENAS F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilfredo Nesto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. Jelte Zevenberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinicio Medina in the 90th minute of play. Beetje Moe Re-United's Jelte Zevenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinicio Medina in the 91st minute of play. After a rather tough play, PUNTARENAS F.C's Leonel Ortiz got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Virgilio Rojas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilfredo Nesto in the 93rd minute of play. Virgilio Rojas came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Beetje Moe Re-United's Wilfredo Nesto. But to his dismay, Wilfredo Nesto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. PUNTARENAS F.C's Virgilio Rojas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfredo Nesto in the 97th minute of play. In the 98th minute Beetje Moe Re-United were awarded a corner. Marco Hegeman went to the cornerflag to take it. Beetje Moe Re-United walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
