But to his dismay, Chen Ao Fan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Skövde AIK's Olov Wahlnäs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philip Hedvall in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Jerry Williams ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Markus Albäck was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. 22 minutes into the match, Kurt Hamrin notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Nye's Markus Albäck. Kurt Hamrin took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Markus Albäck. Markus Albäck dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-10. Markus Albäck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Hamrin in the 46th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-10 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Philip Hedvall made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Skövde AIK's Kevin Keegan dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-11. Nye's Markus Albäck proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Nye from getting a goal against them. Markus Albäck was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kurt Hamrin scored 0-14 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Markus Albäck, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kevin Keegan let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 70th minute shot 0-15 at rihgt post. Markus Albäck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Hamrin in the 73rd minute of play. Markus Albäck made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kevin Keegan in the 74th minute. 75 minutes into the match, Nye's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Hamrin came free, but Markus Albäck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Markus Albäck made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Chen Ao Fan sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Nye booed when Skövde AIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Hamrin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Chen Ao Fan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Markus Albäck. Nye's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chen Ao Fan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-17. 89 minutes into the match, Kevin Keegan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Markus Albäck. Markus Albäck made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Kevin Keegan sent off a good shot on target.
