Skövde AIK's Olov Wahlnäs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herman Bergström in the 25th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Chen Ao Fan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Victorino Kelemen was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 30th minute Chen Ao Fan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorino Kelemen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Kevin Keegan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Victorino Kelemen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chen Ao Fan was the one to do the kick off.
