Independiente's Xu Yun Quan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Franc Merlot made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Farid Mondragón took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Rancaño, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Farid Mondragón didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gilberto Rancaño went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gilberto Rancaño in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Farid Mondragón saved C. A. Independiente from getting behind. 13 minutes in the game Maju Vellon did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Cadfan Cornell. Farid Mondragón showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilberto Rancaño in the 23rd minute of the match. 27 minutes into the game, one of C. A. Independiente:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 29th minute, Hugo Quintana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The TiGrEs Fx fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 32nd minute Gilberto Rancaño shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Farid Mondragón saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. TiGrEs Fx's Franc Merlot proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save TiGrEs Fx from getting a goal against them. After 36 played minutes TiGrEs Fx got a freekick which was hit by Mister Peet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Rancaño in the 38th minute of play forced C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Farid Mondragón to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Franc Merlot made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Sid Chadwick sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kerry Sellers got free with Franc Merlot in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Gilberto Rancaño's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Farid Mondragón was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gilberto Rancaño to strike the kick off in the second half. Qiu Fan Ran made in the 51st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by TiGrEs Fx's Marcos Marcos. Ryszard Prusinowski's late challenge caught a TiGrEs Fx's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ryszard Prusinowski helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to C. A. Independiente getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Ryszard Prusinowski hit a great ball. Xu Yun Quan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Gilberto Rancaño kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Farid Mondragón. That made the score 1-4 in the 62 minute of play. Gilberto Rancaño might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Farid Mondragón. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilberto Rancaño ran back to his position shaking his head. C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save C. A. Independiente from getting a goal against them. When C. A. Independiente's Xu Yun Quan in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Franc Merlot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xu Yun Quan in the 82nd minute of play. After 83 minutes TiGrEs Fx's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alfredo Felder who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, C. A. Independiente's Qiu Fan Ran got a free kick in the 94th minute. The TiGrEs Fx supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing TiGrEs Fx would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
