Acilia Town's Ciro Moscatelli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Acilia Town from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Acilia Town's Ciro Moscatelli got control of the ball when Sebastian Ekelund tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 17th minute Liang Cai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jay Jowsey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A throw-in in the 20th minute of the game was made by Glenn Bailey with Adrian Grech as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 22nd minute, Liang Cai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 24 minutes into the game, Acilia Town's Liang Cai nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jay Jowsey made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Liang Cai took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jay Jowsey. Jay Jowsey dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, Acilia Town's Liang Cai got a free kick in the 38th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 42 minutes, Ciro Moscatelli successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jay Jowsey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liang Cai in the 44th minute of the match. Acilia Town made a substitution. Alvaro Recoba replaced Jorge Ramos.
Attard Gunners's Neville Ciscaldi got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Liang Cai's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jay Jowsey read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. A collision led to Acilia Town getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Liang Cai hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liang Cai in the 60th minute of play forced Attard Gunners's goalkeeper Jay Jowsey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastian Ekelund took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ciro Moscatelli. Ciro Moscatelli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Liang Cai could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Jay Jowsey made a huge save. After 69 minutes Attard Gunners's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ovidiu Ciulei who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Acilia Town's corner Ovidiu Ciulei fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jay Jowsey quite easily take care of the ball. Liang Cai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 75 minutes into the game, Sebastian Ekelund cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Ciro Moscatelli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jay Jowsey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liang Cai in the 78th minute of the match. Acilia Town made a substitution. Dieguinho Tande replaced Liang Cai. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Acilia Town's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Godwin Sapiano was slow to take the kick. During this time Attard Gunners's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Attard Gunners's Godwin Sapiano to fire away a dangerous shot which Ciro Moscatelli despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Acilia Town's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Savona came free, but Ciro Moscatelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dieguinho Tande received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jay Jowsey came out and tried to block the shot, but Dieguinho Tande slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 85th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nathan Baldacchino during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 94 played minutes Attard Gunners got a freekick which was hit by Nathan Baldacchino. 95 minutes into the match, Acilia Town's Dieguinho Tande sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jay Jowsey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 98 minutes into the match, Acilia Town's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Testaferrata Olivier came free, but Ciro Moscatelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 98 minutes, Michael Testaferrata Olivier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Attard Gunners's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michael Testaferrata Olivier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Attard Gunners supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Acilia Town's performance. The match ended with a win for Acilia Town.
