Yuan Wei Han sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Joe Herring took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for 郝泉文 to make any attempt to save it. Valencia C.F.'s Jerry Lodge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by İzzettin Çağili in the 23rd minute of play. After 23 played minutes Bright got a freekick which was hit by 孙真潮. 郝泉文 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joe Herring, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Bright's 郝泉文 got control of the ball when Joe Herring tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jerry Lodge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 程铮政 in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute Julien Zbydniowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerry Lodge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 39 played minutes Bright got a freekick which was hit by 巩皓洲. 42 minutes into the match, Valencia C.F.'s goal looked a bit too open when İzzettin Çağili came free, but Jerry Lodge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Valencia C.F.'s Joe Herring dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joe Herring in the 48th minute of play forced Bright's goalkeeper 郝泉文 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half.
