The audience was convinced that Eusebiu Tunar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jarl Bredberg was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Andy Robertsson hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Lino Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Talavera in the 58th minute of play. Gil Talavera might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lino Mazza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gil Talavera ran back to his position shaking his head.
