The audience thought a goal was coming when Ruperto Salvadore got free with Agustín Rossi in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Taci Argün recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jimeno Nevada didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rodrigo Palacio went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 31 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Magallanes's goal looked a bit too open when Silvestre Cisco came free, but Jimeno Nevada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gavino Ramis short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Agustín Rossi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Club Atlético Magallanes's Gavino Rami was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 32nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 40 minutes, Agustín Rossi successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.
