Alejo Alonso struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Jon Oblak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Pointe Courte. After 10 minutes, Roch Felenak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Pointe Courte and the Andarilhos players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, La Pointe Courte's Roch Felenak got a free kick in the 10th minute. After having played for 11 minutes, Trifon Katsoulis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Andarilhos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trifon Katsoulis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gao Yang Yan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trifon Katsoulis in the 15th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Andarilhos's Trifon Katsoulis got a free kick in the 37th minute. Roch Felenak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Oblak having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fu Han Qiang to make the kick off. La Pointe Courte's Gao Yang Yan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jürgen Behnke in the 58th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Andarilhos's zone, Roch Felenak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jon Oblak came out of the goal and Roch Felenak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. La Pointe Courte made a substitution. Yves Leite replaced Roch Felenak. Adriano Ramires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gao Yang Yan having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Severino Figueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fu Han Qiang got free with Gao Yang Yan in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Severino Figueira during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 75thth minute of the game Yves Leite who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Andarilhos's Jon Oblak was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gilbert Thellier's late challenge caught a Andarilhos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilbert Thellier helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Andarilhos booed when La Pointe Courte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilbert Thellier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andarilhos's Andrzej Zawaski was substituted for Trifon Katsoulis. In the 79th minute, Gilbert Thellier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Andarilhos's Severino Figueira got a free kick in the 92nd minute. After 95 minutes Andarilhos's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Josué Pagueguy who took care of the corner kick. Rudy Laisney made a great header on La Pointe Courte's corner, it was just that Andarilhos's Jon Oblak managed to reach the ball for a save.
