In the 5th minute Le Stade Briochin UC were awarded a corner. Farid Verrecchia went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Le Stade Briochin UC's Pierre-Louis Eudeline to fire away a dangerous shot which Christian Kiliz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some careless play in the Le Stade Briochin UC defense, Aurelio Duarte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lev Yashin. The Le Stade Briochin UC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lev Yashin should have stopped the shot. Christian Kiliz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Tabor in the 16th minute of the match. Christian Kiliz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Tabor in the 18th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Altos Gatos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Tabor came free, but Christian Kiliz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Altos Gatos FC's Christian Kiliz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nolan Roux in the 25th minute of play. Christian Kiliz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernest Sauze in the 28th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aurelio Duarte in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lev Yashin saved Le Stade Briochin UC from getting behind. The Le Stade Briochin UC fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when Le Stade Briochin UC's Nolan Roux looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Christian Kiliz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Tabor in the 42nd minute of play. Le Stade Briochin UC made a substitution. Dimitri Nedellec replaced Nolan Roux. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by Altos Gatos FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dimitri Nedellec was slow to take the kick. During this time Le Stade Briochin UC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Dimitri Nedellec almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Altos Gatos FC's Christian Kiliz did a great save. The audience was convinced that Aurelio Duarte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lev Yashin was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jaime Tabor to strike the kick off in the second half.
