After a rather tough play, Academia Monte Gordo's Fabrício Lustosa got a free kick in the 8th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zdzislaw Kręcina. After 13 played minutes Academia Monte Gordo got a freekick which was hit by Pascual Mouricio. Cícero Palmeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabrício Lustosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Academia Monte Gordo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Viktor Cziráki scored to the left of an out of position Mao Zhen Hong, making the score, 1-0. After having played for 27 minutes, Szymon Lipa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Emeryt Sosnowiec's supporters crossed their fingers, but Szymon Lipa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th minute of the match, Viktor Cziráki tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mao Zhen Hong saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olaf Glozor in the 31st minute of play forced Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th match minute, Emeryt Sosnowiec was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zenon Lech to maneuver through the defense. If Fabrício Lustosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Milosz Dubilas made in the 40th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Olaf Glozor however managed to control. Emeryt Sosnowiec's Cícero Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabrício Lustosa in the 42nd minute of play. Cícero Palmeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabrício Lustosa in the 45th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Emeryt Sosnowiec's Alexander Helguera was substituted for Viktor Cziráki. Academia Monte Gordo's Fryderyk Grucza was substituted for Fabrício Lustosa. Emeryt Sosnowiec's Hjalmar Lindkvist was substituted for Olaf Glozor. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexander Helguera to make the kick off.
