The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kryspin Cupial made an important save on a dangerous shot by Krisztián Bartha in the 3rd minute. 5 minutes into the match, TUSE's goal looked a bit too open when Don Merlot came free, but Fülöp Magos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sven-Olof Lilja made a great header on SSV Ulm 1846's corner, it was just that TUSE's Fülöp Magos managed to reach the ball for a save. SSV Ulm 1846's Afonso Silveira managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Attila Szalai in the 10 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Géza Tímár in the 12th minute of play forced SSV Ulm 1846's goalkeeper Kryspin Cupial to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. TUSE's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Bertold Gyurkovics in the 13th minute. The supporters of SSV Ulm 1846 booed when TUSE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Attila Szalai didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 minutes of play, SSV Ulm 1846's Don Merlot made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fülöp Magos was left in no man's land by his defense there! 24 minutes into the match, Krisztián Bartha dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Kryspin Cupial, 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Don Merlot in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fülöp Magos saved TUSE from getting behind. Fülöp Magos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niclas Monschke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fülöp Magos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Merlot in the 34th minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, TUSE's goal looked a bit too open when Niclas Monschke came free, but Fülöp Magos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Krisztián Bartha recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kryspin Cupial. Krisztián Bartha showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. In the 46th minute, Niclas Monschke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Géza Tímár to make the kick off. Fülöp Magos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Merlot in the 51st minute of play. The throw-in from Attila Szalai in the 52nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by SSV Ulm 1846's Sven-Olof Lilja. Fülöp Magos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albrecht Bosbach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the SSV Ulm 1846 defense, Géza Tímár kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kryspin Cupial. The SSV Ulm 1846 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kryspin Cupial should have stopped the shot. SSV Ulm 1846's Kryspin Cupial played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Géza Tímár in the 64th minute of play.
