Spectators: 8074 (Terracing: 6057, Seating: 1857, VIP seats: 160) Radamel Oakley started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Calistrat Madgearu made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Radamel Oakley sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorin Banu in the 14th minute of play forced Surahammar's goalkeeper Jan Lindström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute Dorin Banu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Lindström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16th play minutes Nicodim Orășan shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Jan Lindström and just under the crossbar into goal. After 20 played minutes Surahammar got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Kodzhabashev. After recieving a nice pass, MIT's Romeo Gherghescu tried to score from far away in the 21st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 24thth minute of the game Radamel Oakley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MIT's Calistrat Madgearu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Calistrat Madgearu managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Surahammar's Radamel Oakley fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Radamel Oakley in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Calistrat Madgearu saved MIT from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicodim Orășan in the 33rd minute of play forced Surahammar's goalkeeper Jan Lindström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ivan Vâtcă made in the 35th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Nicodim Orășan however managed to control. When Tiberiu Caramarin came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the MIT fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiberiu Caramarin couldn't finish the play. In the 45th minute, Surahammar's Radamel Oakley ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Calistrat Madgearu. Calistrat Madgearu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tiberiu Caramarin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 69th minute, Surahammar's Adrian Kodzhabashev seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Adrian Kodzhabashev the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Surahammar protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Adrian Kodzhabashev had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Surahammar fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Surahammar's goalkeeper Jan Lindström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
