The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ema City's Qiu Wei Yan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arnold Szuper in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Carneiro in the 15th minute of play forced Szombathely Squirrels's goalkeeper Arnold Szuper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If José Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The referee ignored Szombathely Squirrels's protests and gave Károly Várdai a yellow card for diving instead. Ema City were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after Szombathely Squirrels's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Selçuk Özgebay took the corner. Chen Yang Han made a great header on Ema City's corner, it was just that Szombathely Squirrels's Arnold Szuper managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Selçuk Özgebay in the 43rd minute of play forced Szombathely Squirrels's goalkeeper Arnold Szuper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
