In the 7th minute Andy Cole shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Higuita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Floresta Negra FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Christos Xenidis was slow to take the kick. During this time Valencia CF Mindszent's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Christos Xenidis got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Egun Pais quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gábor Joó fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egun Pais having to interfere. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Valencia CF Mindszent's goalkeeper Rene Higuita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 25 minutes Valencia CF Mindszent's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lokon Pøhl who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Floresta Negra FC's Lokon Pøhl to fire away a dangerous shot which Rene Higuita despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Valencia CF Mindszent were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after Floresta Negra FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Christos Xenidis took the corner. Rene Higuita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andy Cole in the 33rd minute of play. The throw-in from Gáspár Rigó in the 34th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Floresta Negra FC's Clemente Moura. Gáspár Rigó hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andy Cole in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rene Higuita saved Valencia CF Mindszent from getting behind. Rene Higuita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andy Cole, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute.

The wind increased when Gábor Joó made the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the game, Andy Cole recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rene Higuita. Andy Cole showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Floresta Negra FC's Harris Zoolingen was substituted for Milen Kúlvachev. Valencia CF Mindszent made a substitution. Adolfo Larrauri replaced Marcell Kiss. A sloppy throw-in by Gáspár Rigó in the 64th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Floresta Negra FC's Clemente Moura. Egun Pais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Konstantin Fitos in the 65th minute of the match. 67 minutes had been played when some careless play by Floresta Negra FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Konstantin Fitos in the 81st minute of play forced Floresta Negra FC's goalkeeper Egun Pais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 83 minutes into the game, Jardel Lewandowski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Floresta Negra FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valencia CF Mindszent the free kick. In the 83rd minute, Jardel Lewandowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 84thth minute of the game Konstantin Fitos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Floresta Negra FC's Egun Pais was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jardel Lewandowski in the 90th minute of play forced Valencia CF Mindszent's goalkeeper Rene Higuita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 92 minutes Valencia CF Mindszent's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lokon Pøhl who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Carlos Fernando Azevedo managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 95th play minute Jardel Lewandowski came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Rene Higuita. 1-2. The Floresta Negra FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Floresta Negra FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
