The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Achille Albanesi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cris Gol in the 7th minute of play. In the 12th minute, S.S.C. NAPOLI's Fulvio Muzzolon dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The supporters of S.S.C. NAPOLI booed when Predador Brasiliense MZBR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cris Gol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fulvio Muzzolon in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Octavian Jähnigen, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Octavian Jähnigen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fulvio Muzzolon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, S.S.C. NAPOLI's goal looked a bit too open when Cris Gol came free, but Achille Albanesi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Lam Baril fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Predador Brasiliense MZBR's protests and gave Lam Baril a yellow card for diving instead. Octavian Jähnigen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fulvio Muzzolon in the 34th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the game, Ciccio Bassani cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Octavian Jähnigen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Octavian Jähnigen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.

S.S.C. NAPOLI were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after Predador Brasiliense MZBR's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fulvio Grande took the corner. The corner led S.S.C. NAPOLI's Richard Nixon to fire away a dangerous shot which Octavian Jähnigen despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 56th minute Ciccio Bassani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octavian Jähnigen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Octavian Jähnigen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fulvio Grande went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. In the 80th minute, Dave Pierucci ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Octavian Jähnigen was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Achille Albanesi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jânio Donatello in the 82nd minute. Octavian Jähnigen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciccio Bassani in the 83rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Predador Brasiliense MZBR's Lam Baril slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Achille Albanesi. That made the score 5-1 after 86 minutes of play. Lam Baril sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute, António Sobral reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Achille Albanesi. The goal made the score 5-2. S.S.C. NAPOLI's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
