If William Rigg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kim Bolas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emmanuel Canturri having to interfere. A collision led to Sliema Dragons FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Fabian Duca hit a great ball. Emmanuel Canturri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kim Bolas in the 10th minute of play. Barrie Kerridge made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when William Rigg sent off a good shot on target. William Rigg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Barrie Kerridge read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Emmanuel Canturri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baran Erozan in the 26th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, William Rigg took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Barrie Kerridge to make any attempt to save it. The Valar's Emmanuel Canturri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kim Bolas in the 31st minute of play. Emmanuel Canturri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kim Bolas, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The corner led Sliema Dragons FC's 周斐俊 to fire away a dangerous shot which Emmanuel Canturri despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 44th minute of the match Sliema Dragons FC got a corner. The Valar's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Baran Erozan ran over to the corner to take the kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when William Rigg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Manwë Vala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barrie Kerridge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emmanuel Canturri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kim Bolas, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Sliema Dragons FC's Barrie Kerridge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Rigg in the 63rd minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, The Valar's goal looked a bit too open when Leszek Cupial came free, but Emmanuel Canturri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sliema Dragons FC's Pepe Ferreira got a free kick in the 91st minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The The Valar fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sliema Dragons FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
