The Garanhão do SUL fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After 16 minutes of play, Garanhão do SUL's Alexandre Vale made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albano Leizarraga to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Icoara Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when André Roriz came free, but Aírton de Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 56 played minutes Icoara Football Club got a freekick which was hit by José Augusto Moraes. After some careless play in the Icoara Football Club defense, Albano Leizarraga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aírton de Amorim. The Icoara Football Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aírton de Amorim should have stopped the shot. Garanhão do SUL made a substitution. António Gama replaced André Roriz. After 65 played minutes, Garanhão do SUL's Evandro Cruz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aírton de Amorim came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Garanhão do SUL reached it. Alexandre Vale hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. António Gama scored 7-0 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aírton de Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Icoara Football Club's Genílson de Queirós got a free kick in the 88th minute. Aírton de Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Obafemi Fabiani, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Obafemi Fabiani managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garanhão do SUL's supporters rose to their feet, but Obafemi Fabiani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aírton de Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aírton de Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Obafemi Fabiani in the 96th minute of the match. The corner ended in Tarcísio Palha almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Icoara Football Club's Aírton de Amorim did a great save. When the referee ended the match the Garanhão do SUL players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
