F.C. Paços de Ferreira were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after Deportivo Damasco F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Igor Tudor took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Inácio Secco managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The audience was convinced that Aldo Damasco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Péter Mészáros was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Nino Moi hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Péter Mészáros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Damasco in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's goalkeeper Péter Mészáros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vladimir Couto. In the 18th match minute, F.C. Paços de Ferreira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Tudor to maneuver through the defense. Avram Popoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Secco in the 22nd minute of the match. A hard shot 25 in the game by Aldo Damasco from a close distance when the talented Péter Mészáros managed to make a qualified save. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's players were relieved. In the 30th minute, Vladimir Couto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 31 minutes, Aldo Damasco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Damasco F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Aldo Damasco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Péter Mészáros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save F.C. Paços de Ferreira from getting a goal against them. Péter Mészáros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Damasco in the 37th minute of play. José Bomba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Avram Popoiu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. If Aldo Damasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Deportivo Damasco F.C. made a substitution. Tiadoro Cores replaced Naum Seiler. In the 55th minute José Bomba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Avram Popoiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Deportivo Damasco F.C.'s Roman Corte in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye F.C. Péter Mészáros came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Damasco F.C.'s Vladimir Couto. But to his dismay, Vladimir Couto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 69 minutes into the match, Vladimir Couto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Péter Mészáros. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vladimir Couto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Péter Mészáros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Federico Lertora, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute of the match Deportivo Damasco F.C. got a corner. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tiadoro Cores ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Deportivo Damasco F.C. getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Arturo Persia hit a great ball. F.C. Paços de Ferreira made a substitution. Paulo Ferreira replaced Inácio Secco. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Fabrício Travassos was substituted for Igor Tudor. With a little luck, Deportivo Damasco F.C.'s Avram Popoiu got control of the ball when José Bomba tried to sneak it across the goal line. José Bomba could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Avram Popoiu made a huge save. Péter Mészáros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Corte in the 85th minute of play. Avram Popoiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bóas Pernas, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After 88 played minutes Deportivo Damasco F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Persia. After having played for 89 minutes, Paulo Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Ferreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Deportivo Damasco F.C.'s Tiadoro Cores suffered a sore thigh after 93 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Saúl Zambujal charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Saúl Zambujal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 94th minute, Saúl Zambujal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the F.C. Paços de Ferreira players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Deportivo Damasco F.C..
