Fulgencio Rioja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurel Beldeanu in the 3rd minute of play. In the 6th minute Cafu Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandu Vlaicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 9 minutes into the game, when Gabriel Ursino put in a rough tackle. The audience thought a goal was coming when Esteban Ferman got free with Sandu Vlaicu in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 21st minute, Jedrzej Tomaka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fulgencio Rioja showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurel Beldeanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Aurel Beldeanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Fulgencio Rioja tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Velez's goalkeeper Fulgencio Rioja, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurel Beldeanu in the 34th minute of play forced Velez's goalkeeper Fulgencio Rioja to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the game, FC Urzicuța's Aurel Beldeanu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fulgencio Rioja made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 39th minute Aurel Beldeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fulgencio Rioja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venancio Caton kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. FC Urzicuța's Cristi Chivu couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Velez.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aurel Beldeanu to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes FC Urzicuța got a freekick which was hit by Apolo Mingo. Aurel Beldeanu was extremely unlucky when he, in the 54th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Sandu Vlaicu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esteban Ferman in the 61st minute of play. In the 62nd minute Aurel Beldeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fulgencio Rioja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Velez's zone, Aurel Beldeanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fulgencio Rioja came out of the goal and Aurel Beldeanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Aurel Beldeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Urzicuța's supporters rose to their feet, but Aurel Beldeanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fulgencio Rioja breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Velez's Fulgencio Rioja proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Velez from getting a goal against them. In the 74th minute, Aurel Beldeanu fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 77th minute Aurel Beldeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fulgencio Rioja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Velez's Gonçalo Bittencourt got a free kick in the 78th minute. If Aurel Beldeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Velez's Fulgencio Rioja proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Velez from getting a goal against them. Aurel Beldeanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 88 minutes into the match, FC Urzicuța's goal looked a bit too open when Esteban Ferman came free, but Sandu Vlaicu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aurel Beldeanu in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fulgencio Rioja prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Velez getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Esteban Ferman hit a great ball.
