Martin Tudor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Walter Pico's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. In the 86th minute of the match Velez sarsfield got a corner. Progresul Pitesti's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fabio Regis ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chorache Tofiño got free with Narciso Frechoso in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 90th minute Progresul Pitesti were awarded a corner. Florin Logofătu went to the cornerflag to take it. Martin Tudor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walter Pico, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Walter Pico in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Martin Tudor saved Progresul Pitesti from getting behind.
