Börje Wästerberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nilton Soeiro in the 5th minute. Nilton Soeiro in the 7thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Börje Wästerberg, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Elano Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Börje Wästerberg having to interfere. In the 16th minute Amadeo Tuste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Börje Wästerberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nilton Soeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Börje Wästerberg made a huge save. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Nilton Soeiro sped through IzmirFK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Börje Wästerberg. Börje Wästerberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeo Tuste, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, Nilton Soeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Börje Wästerberg. IzmirFK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nilton Soeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Palmeiras's Carlos Augusto Recife played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tobias Abrahamsson in the 38th minute of play. Amadeo Tuste received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Börje Wästerberg came out and tried to block the shot, but Amadeo Tuste slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 40th minute. Nilton Soeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 47th match minute, IzmirFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mattias Vedholm to maneuver through the defense.

The wind increased when Amadeo Tuste made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Nilton Soeiro notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of IzmirFK's Börje Wästerberg. Börje Wästerberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Börje Wästerberg came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Palmeiras's Amadeo Tuste. But to his dismay, Amadeo Tuste quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. After 58 played minutes Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Elano Soares. After 61 played minutes Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Amadeo Tuste. IzmirFK's Börje Wästerberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilton Soeiro in the 63rd minute of play. Börje Wästerberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilton Soeiro in the 66th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amadeo Tuste in the 69th minute of play forced IzmirFK's goalkeeper Börje Wästerberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 71 minutes IzmirFK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Amadeo Tuste who took care of the corner kick. In the 73rd minute Nilton Soeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Börje Wästerberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th minute, Amadeo Tuste got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Nilton Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, IzmirFK's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeo Tuste came free, but Börje Wästerberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Amadeo Tuste had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Börje Wästerberg. IzmirFK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amadeo Tuste was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amadeo Tuste in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Börje Wästerberg saved IzmirFK from getting behind. If Nilton Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amadeo Tuste struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Börje Wästerberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmeiras. Tobias Abrahamsson hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
