When Jozef De Custer fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Bruges's protests and gave Jozef De Custer a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 played minutes FC Bruges got a freekick which was hit by Jozef De Custer. 8 minutes into the match, Olof Västerberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Douglas Schoenmaekers. FC Bruges's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olof Västerberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 21st minute, Bror Söderqvist left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bloodthirsty FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 25 minutes in the game, Herman Bormans dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Mathieux De Weyngaert's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but 何旭银 firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 32 played minutes Bloodthirsty FC got a freekick which was hit by Måns Stålberg. 何旭银 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony Henderickx, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Henrik Lanfan hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Olof Västerberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Douglas Schoenmaekers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olof Västerberg to make the kick off. A collision led to Bloodthirsty FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Bror Söderqvist hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bloodthirsty FC's zone, Mathieux De Weyngaert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 何旭银 came out of the goal and Mathieux De Weyngaert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 58 minutes into the match, Bloodthirsty FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mathieux De Weyngaert came free, but 何旭银 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olof Västerberg hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. 63 minutes into the match, Bo Bergfelt dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Douglas Schoenmaekers, 0-3. Bror Söderqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Sverker Collin hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute of the match Herman Bormans sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but 何旭银 skillfully saved the ball. 何旭银 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony Henderickx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herman Bormans in the 74th minute of play forced Bloodthirsty FC's goalkeeper 何旭银 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bror Söderqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bloodthirsty FC's George Almstedt was substituted for Stig Felin. Bloodthirsty FC's Sebastian Mårtensson was substituted for Sverker Collin. Sebastian Mårtensson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Douglas Schoenmaekers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Douglas Schoenmaekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bror Söderqvist in the 88th minute.
