The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Eliseu Braga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tadeo Laurgain was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Pelle Haglund did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Evandro Lara 13 minutes into the match. Tadeo Laurgain stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eliseu Braga's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Waldir Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Evandro Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute Pelle Haglund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evandro Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 40 minutes, Luís Fabiano Clemente made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Defensores de Lombroso's Tadeo Laurgain tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Defensores de Lombroso booed when Marquês de Herval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 94th match minute, Defensores de Lombroso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldir Guerra to maneuver through the defense. Defensores de Lombroso's Tadeo Laurgain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseu Braga in the 95th minute of play.
