The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cesinha Cruz helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Hertha 1969 booed when Nova Iguaçu MZFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesinha Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Lúcio Domingues managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when Hertha 1969's Pascal Prinzing fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hendrik Behloch ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Hendrik Behloch almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Lúcio Domingues did a great save. After having played for 27 minutes, Hendrik Behloch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hertha 1969's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hendrik Behloch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Gero Andersen sped through Nova Iguaçu MZFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lúcio Domingues. 31 minutes into the match, Hendrik Behloch dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lúcio Domingues, 2-0. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Lúcio Domingues, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 38th minute, Pascal Prinzing got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Adrianinho Eger fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nova Iguaçu MZFC's protests and gave Adrianinho Eger a yellow card for diving instead. Adrianinho Eger hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute of the match Hendrik Behloch shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lúcio Domingues showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Lúcio Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pascal Prinzing, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Lúcio Domingues proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Nova Iguaçu MZFC from getting a goal against them. Lúcio Domingues was a little too slow when Pascal Prinzing got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elói Senna to strike the kick off in the second half. Lúcio Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pascal Prinzing in the 58th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hendrik Behloch in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lúcio Domingues saved Nova Iguaçu MZFC from getting behind. Lúcio Domingues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pascal Prinzing in the 64th minute of play. Pascal Prinzing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Domingues having to interfere. Hertha 1969 made a substitution. Adam Jäckel replaced Gero Andersen. After 70 played minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a freekick which was hit by Cesinha Cruz. Lúcio Domingues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hendrik Behloch in the 74th minute of play. After 75 minutes, Pascal Prinzing made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Lúcio Domingues tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Mark Stripf kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elói Senna got free with Tjark Ernst in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 81 minutes into the match, Adam Jäckel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lúcio Domingues. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adam Jäckel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. In the 85th minute Pascal Prinzing shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Domingues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hendrik Behloch took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lúcio Domingues. Lúcio Domingues dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Simon Stiehl struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute.
