In the 3rd match minute, Pereiras FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Batista to maneuver through the defense. If Kléber Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonas Pombal was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nelsinho Carneiro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. In the 11th minute Edgard Maraschin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vânderson Botelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vânderson Botelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Maraschin in the 11th minute of play. Jonas Pombal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zhuo Cheng Xiang in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute, Remo Simão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabiofs's Jonas Pombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldo Isidoro in the 17th minute of play. Jonas Pombal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelsinho Carneiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Vânderson Botelho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kléber Guimarães went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Edgard Maraschin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marcelo Batista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 33 minutes, Dalmo de Queiroz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fabiofs and the Pereiras FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Pereiras FC booed when Fabiofs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmo de Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Pereiras FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ramón Fantini came free, but Vânderson Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgard Maraschin struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Vânderson Botelho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fabiofs. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edgard Maraschin to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Pereiras FC's Silvinho de Queirós got a free kick in the 57th minute. Edgard Maraschin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Vânderson Botelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Pereiras FC's José Carlos Bezerra got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Dalmo de Queiroz hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Júlio Gaspar charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Júlio Gaspar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Júlio Gaspar kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fabiofs's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcelo Batista was slow to take the kick. During this time Pereiras FC's players had a chance to rest. In the 80th minute, Edgard Maraschin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fabiofs fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Pereiras FC's Enio Palmeira got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonas Pombal came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Pereiras FC's Enio Palmeira. But to his dismay, Enio Palmeira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Despite being the better team, Pereiras FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
