In the 19th minute Club Sportivo Italiano were awarded a corner. Natalio Louis went to the cornerflag to take it. Rafael Martino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carmelo Sifon, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 27th minute, Club Sportivo Italiano's Luis Balesio seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Luis Balesio the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Club Sportivo Italiano protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Luis Balesio had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 27th minute, one of Club Sportivo Italiano:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Club Sportivo Italiano. In the 32nd minute, Leopoldo Noyola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 沈益震 hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Club Sportivo Italiano's attack was well implemented in the 37th minute, but when Octavio Senio was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. This resulted in a 0-3 score and a disappointed Rafael Martino as he didn't even see the shot coming. 76 minutes in the game, Carmelo Sifon fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Rafael Martino having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carmelo Sifon in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafael Martino saved Club Sportivo Italiano from getting behind. In the 81st minute Nicolás Guerrero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Martino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Sportivo Italiano's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nicolás Guerrero was slow to take the kick. During this time Real Madrid de Guatemala's players had a chance to rest.
