In the 25th minute of the match Cauan Custódio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christian Wenerdahl skillfully saved the ball. 32 minutes into the match, IFK Göteborg's goal looked a bit too open when Jesus Frichoso came free, but Christian Wenerdahl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafael Martino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens-Ove Lindkvist in the 38th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Ove Lövkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christian Wenerdahl came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Club Sportivo Italiano's Jesus Frichoso. But to his dismay, Jesus Frichoso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 47th minute, Justo Romo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christian Wenerdahl was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Karl-Ove Blomkvist to make the kick off. Ingvar Hellgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Rafael Martino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christian Wenerdahl was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in IFK Göteborg's zone, Jesus Frichoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Wenerdahl came out of the goal and Jesus Frichoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 77 minutes into the game, Natalio Louis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Sportivo Italiano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave IFK Göteborg the free kick. Natalio Louis hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After 79 minutes, Justo Romo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Sportivo Italiano and the IFK Göteborg players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 79 played minutes Club Sportivo Italiano got a freekick which was hit by Justo Romo. Karl-Ove Blomkvist hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the IFK Göteborg defense, Jesus Frichoso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christian Wenerdahl. The IFK Göteborg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christian Wenerdahl should have stopped the shot. In the 90th minute, Jesus Frichoso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christian Wenerdahl was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Christian Wenerdahl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jesus Frichoso in the 96th minute of the match. Justo Romo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Club Sportivo Italiano had played much better football throughout.
