An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Holm in the 21st minute of play forced Bahía é Carnaval's goalkeeper Sergio Romeri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sergio Romeri dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Sergio Romeri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Beltrami in the 93rd minute of play. Sergio Romeri had in the 97thth minute some difficulties stopping Eduardo Beltrami's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. With a little luck, Grimório's Waldemar Pawlik got control of the ball when Luis Iban tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Grimório had won after a very even match.
