Constantino Elija came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Piratas FC's Celedonio Argina. But to his dismay, Celedonio Argina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Yalapa booed when Piratas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeledon Laffitte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guido Franco made in the 14th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Luciano Salvino immediately put the ball in play. In the 15th match minute, Yalapa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leandro Urbes to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute of the match David Cordarius sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Constantino Elija skillfully saved the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erasmo Theodore got free with Victorino Gaufred in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Andres Peru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Victorino Gaufred made a huge save. In the 36th match minute, Piratas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angel Isusko to maneuver through the defense. Celedonio Argina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Constantino Elija having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Lisandro Claude in the 52nd minute of play forced Yalapa's goalkeeper Constantino Elija to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lisandro Claude hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. A throw-in in the 56th minute of the game was made by Guido Franco with Erasmo Theodore as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 57th minute, Angel Isusko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leandro Urbes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Victorino Gaufred. Piratas FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Yalapa's goalkeeper Constantino Elija had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Celedonio Argina. Constantino Elija showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvaro Martxot, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Constantino Elija made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Celedonio Argina sent off a good shot on target. Celedonio Argina could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Constantino Elija made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Piratas FC's David Aimar got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Luisito Atauri was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 72nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Guido Franco made in the 76th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Piratas FC's David Aimar. Constantino Elija took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celedonio Argina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Constantino Elija was a little too slow when Celedonio Argina got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 0-3. Celedonio Argina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Constantino Elija having to interfere. Victorino Gaufred showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andres Peru in the 93rd minute of the match. Lisandro Claude's late challenge caught a Yalapa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lisandro Claude helped the player get up and apologised. In the 96th match minute, Yalapa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luciano Salvino to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Yalapa lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
