When Bruno Steiner fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olympique Fribourg's protests and gave Bruno Steiner a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonio Nordby got free with Tristan Arioli in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 46 minutes into the match, Olympique Fribourg's goal looked a bit too open when Fulgencio Bilbo came free, but Tristan Arioli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antonio Nordby stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Pergamino's Dionisio Otsando got a free kick in the 58th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mich Batshuayi couldn't finish the play. Deportivo Pergamino's Hermengildo Aresti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Steiner in the 76th minute of play. After 79 played minutes Olympique Fribourg got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Poffet. Fabio Poffet hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Fulgencio Bilbo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tristan Arioli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Olympique Fribourg's Tristan Arioli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisito Fernanco in the 84th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Antonio Nordby managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Pergamino's supporters rose to their feet, but Antonio Nordby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tristan Arioli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
