Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Emanuel Bazinet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlo Santini in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute Sport Lisboa e Benfica were awarded a corner. Marquis Hopper went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Sport Lisboa e Benfica's corner Marquis Hopper fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ferdinando Andreoli quite easily take care of the ball. In the 22nd minute Carlo Santini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Bazinet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Carlo Santini notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Emanuel Bazinet. Emanuel Bazinet was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Glasgow Rangers FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Carlo Santini made the kick off in the second half. In the 63rd minute, Antoine Norton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ferdinando Andreoli was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After having played for 76 minutes, Kacper Fetor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glasgow Rangers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kacper Fetor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 84 minutes into the game, Alvise De Toni threw the ball into play from the sideline. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Art Solomon quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Kacper Fetor did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-3 to the left of a surprised Emanuel Bazinet 86 minutes into the match. Emanuel Bazinet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlo Santini in the 89th minute of the match. When Shaun Wang fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sport Lisboa e Benfica's protests and gave Shaun Wang a yellow card for diving instead. After 90 played minutes Sport Lisboa e Benfica got a freekick which was hit by Shaun Wang. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Kacper Fetor took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Emanuel Bazinet to make any attempt to save it. Glasgow Rangers FC played a much better game than Sport Lisboa e Benfica and deserved their victory. The Sport Lisboa e Benfica players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
