The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gino Van Deijck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bawang Merah in the 3rd minute of play. If Zhou Cheng Chen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anak Habib showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Van Clijnebreugel in the 7th minute of the match. In the 8th minute, Abel Van Clijnebreugel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anak Habib was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 15th match minute, Fauna Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robben De Vlaeminck to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as SAPI FC's Bawang Merah slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gino Van Deijck. That made the score 2-1 after 27 minutes of play. In the 34th minute, Bawang Merah reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gino Van Deijck. The goal made the score 3-1. Ive Beckers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Anak Habib tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Bawang Merah came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the SAPI FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bawang Merah couldn't finish the play. Anak Habib showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Van Clijnebreugel, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bawang Merah to make the kick off. 62 minutes into the match, Bawang Merah notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Fauna Utd's Gino Van Deijck. Gino Van Deijck was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as Abel Van Clijnebreugel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Anak Habib. That made the score 6-2 in the 78 minute of play. In the 81st match minute, Fauna Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dean De Koq to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute Bawang Merah shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gino Van Deijck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gino Van Deijck was left in no man's land by his defense there!
