The crowd rose to their feet as Clapham Comets F.C.'s Barrie Newell slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Faustão Gaspar. That made the score 3-0 after 45 minutes of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
