Barnaba Kilarski started the match with the kick off. 2 minutes into the game, Deportivo Galicia's Leonel Mesquita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jan Chowaniec made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Los Merengues's Jan Chowaniec played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fedele Melani in the 5th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonel Mesquita in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jan Chowaniec saved Los Merengues from getting behind. 12 minutes into the match, Deportivo Galicia's goalkeeper Alberino Pujana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Barnaba Kilarski. If Leonel Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fedele Melani in the 17th minute of play forced Los Merengues's goalkeeper Jan Chowaniec to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Merih Demiral was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 27th minute Leonel Mesquita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Chowaniec saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Leonel Mesquita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jan Chowaniec was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Jan Chowaniec didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leonel Mesquita went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. 傅傲凌 hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After 37th play minutes Leonel Mesquita shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Jan Chowaniec and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 40th minute, Leonel Mesquita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Galicia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. In the 43rd minute, Leonel Mesquita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jan Chowaniec took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Åke Granberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Deportivo Galicia fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when Deportivo Galicia's Leonel Mesquita looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
In the 52nd minute, Fedele Melani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jan Chowaniec made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Leonel Mesquita sent off a good shot on target. In the 55thth minute of the game Leonel Mesquita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Merengues's Jan Chowaniec was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Deportivo Galicia booed when Los Merengues was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Borys Maurycy didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Merengues's goalkeeper Jan Chowaniec, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 67th minute of the match Deportivo Galicia got a corner. Los Merengues's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bruno Romo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Bruno Romo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Los Merengues's Jan Chowaniec did a great save. After 71 minutes of play, Deportivo Galicia's Svanbjörn von den Berg made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jan Chowaniec was left in no man's land by his defense there! Los Merengues's Cyryl Rutecki was substituted for Leonard Wojtowicz. Svanbjörn von den Berg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Svanbjörn von den Berg in the 77th minute of play forced Los Merengues's goalkeeper Jan Chowaniec to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberino Pujana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Czeslaw Walentowicz in the 82nd minute of play. Eloy Mikelats hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 89th minute, Merih Demiral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 91 played minutes, Los Merengues's Eloy Mikelats shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alberino Pujana came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Los Merengues reached it. Deportivo Galicia's Alberino Pujana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Borys Maurycy in the 93rd minute of play. When Borys Maurycy came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Los Merengues fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Borys Maurycy couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Deportivo Galicia could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Los Merengues throughout the match.
