Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roland Záhoran in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enzo Tocci prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Sao Brasola getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Fulvio Faiella hit a great ball. 8 minutes into the match, Roland Záhoran had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enzo Tocci. Sao Brasola's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roland Záhoran was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Sao Brasola booed when AFK Petržalka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roland Záhoran didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Edmondo Lucentini fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sao Brasola's protests and gave Edmondo Lucentini a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sao Brasola getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Edmondo Lucentini hit a great ball. Enzo Tocci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roland Záhoran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roland Záhoran in the 16th minute of play forced Sao Brasola's goalkeeper Enzo Tocci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute, Roland Záhoran left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AFK Petržalka fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After a rather tough play, Sao Brasola's Davide Di Nunzio got a free kick in the 25th minute. Fulvio Faiella's late challenge caught a AFK Petržalka's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fulvio Faiella helped the player get up and apologised. Fulvio Faiella kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. If Roland Záhoran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Sao Brasola's zone, Roland Záhoran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enzo Tocci came out of the goal and Roland Záhoran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Klement Dupal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugo Fisher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmondo Lucentini in the 45th minute of play. Enzo Tocci stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roland Záhoran's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. After the first half AFK Petržalka were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Klement Dupal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Roland Záhoran received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Enzo Tocci came out and tried to block the shot, but Roland Záhoran slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 52nd minute. Roland Záhoran might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enzo Tocci. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roland Záhoran ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 55th minute of the match, Roland Záhoran tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Enzo Tocci saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Klement Dupal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. AFK Petržalka's supporters rose to their feet, but Klement Dupal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enzo Tocci breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 79 played minutes Sao Brasola got a freekick which was hit by Fulvio Faiella. 86 minutes into the match, Roland Záhoran had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enzo Tocci. Sao Brasola's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roland Záhoran was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Roland Záhoran scored 0-6 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enzo Tocci, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. AFK Petržalka's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
