When Mauro Telmo came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Doping Positivo fans jumped to their feet. Osvald Sigman who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Carter Gargano when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osvald Sigman got free with Carter Gargano in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A hard shot 15 in the game by Osvald Sigman from a close distance when the talented Carter Gargano managed to make a qualified save. Doping Positivo's players were relieved. Osvald Sigman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carter Gargano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Osvald Sigman in the 37thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Carter Gargano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Mauro Telmo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carter Gargano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Lundin in the 45th minute of the match. Osvald Sigman scored 1-1 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carter Gargano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bernardo Henry to make the kick off.
