Egil Sølve showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasco Jackisch in the 2nd minute of the match. Oluf Ankerbøl could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Uwe Ziege made a huge save. A very nice done corner allowed Samuel Berghagen to score against Uwe Ziege in Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal. 1-0 after 16 minutes. Uwe Ziege showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tonni Dong, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Uwe Ziege proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Rot-Weiss-Essen from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivo Claus in the 26th minute of play forced Holmkjar Hotspurs's goalkeeper Egil Sølve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Uwe Ziege proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Rot-Weiss-Essen from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, Holmkjar Hotspurs's Uwe Ziege threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tonni Dong, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hektor Krieglmeier in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Egil Sølve saved Holmkjar Hotspurs from getting behind. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Uwe Ziege played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tonni Dong in the 35th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Holmkjar Hotspurs's goal looked a bit too open when Vasco Jackisch came free, but Egil Sølve reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Holmkjar Hotspurs's Loui Bargmann got a free kick in the 41st minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tonni Dong made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Tonni Dong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uwe Ziege saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gunther Schößler hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Uwe Ziege took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vagner Vennitze, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Vasco Jackisch got a free kick in the 64th minute. A collision led to Holmkjar Hotspurs getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Oluf Ankerbøl hit a great ball. The supporters of Rot-Weiss-Essen booed when Holmkjar Hotspurs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oluf Ankerbøl didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Uwe Ziege played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kalle Bjarkmann in the 71st minute of play. Vagner Vennitze recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Uwe Ziege played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tonni Dong in the 77th minute of play. Uwe Ziege made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tonni Dong in the 82nd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Loui Bargmann came free, but Uwe Ziege reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the game, Tonni Dong was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Holmkjar Hotspurs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rot-Weiss-Essen the free kick. Egil Sølve made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hektor Krieglmeier in the 87th minute. Tonni Dong scored 2-0 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Uwe Ziege, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Holmkjar Hotspurs walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
