Osorio Ubago scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vitor José, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Celestino Fandiño in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vitor José prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vitor José came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by JUVENTUS BIANCONERI FC's Celestino Fandiño. But to his dismay, Celestino Fandiño quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The crowd rose to their feet as S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Jonas Veloso slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eate Marines. That made the score 1-2 after 30 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Suero Escrig in the 35th minute of play forced S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Vitor José to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jonas Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Pavel Nedvěd fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored JUVENTUS BIANCONERI FC's protests and gave Pavel Nedvěd a yellow card for diving instead.
