The supporters of Cobresal booed when S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flávio Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 3 minutes, Florín Sances mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cobresal and the S.E.R. Caxias do Sul players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cobresal's Florín Sances got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Xavi Thayer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vitor José read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Eriberto Pincheira scored to the left of an out of position Vitor José, making the score, 1-0. 22 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Vitor José had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Florín Sances. Vitor José came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Cobresal's Eriberto Pincheira. But to his dismay, Eriberto Pincheira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In a very dangerous position, a player in S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Penalty! 34 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Vitor José had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alifonso Elorreaga. After 35 minutes, Ladislao Mazurkiewicz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.E.R. Caxias do Sul and the Cobresal players grew even worse after the yellow card. Caxias do Sul getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. João Carlos Gaspar hit a great ball. Patricio Mayol came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Ladislao Mazurkiewicz. But to his dismay, Ladislao Mazurkiewicz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ladislao Mazurkiewicz made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Salvador Roldán made a precise shot to the right of Vitor José. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Vitor José showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salvador Roldán in the 58th minute of the match. In the 61st match minute, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remo Valle to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to S.E.R. Caxias do Sul getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Jonas Veloso's late challenge caught a Cobresal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonas Veloso helped the player get up and apologised. Jonas Veloso kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. After 93 minutes of play, Cobresal's Eriberto Pincheira made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vitor José was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vitor José showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florín Sances, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Cobresal walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
