When Luís Gustavo Gerber came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Guará FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Gustavo Gerber couldn't finish the play. Through an outstanding action, after 7 minutes, Diamantino Catarinense successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Sidney Ramalho was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 8 minutes into the match. After 8 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Guará FC! Diamantino Catarinense had in the 9thth minute some difficulties stopping Christian Liknes's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 12th minute, Mathias Jordet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Guará FC booed when Daustad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dag Ose didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute Guará FC were awarded a corner. Ivo Figueiredo went to the cornerflag to take it. Ivo Figueiredo made a great header on Guará FC's corner, it was just that Daustad's Karsten Hveding managed to reach the ball for a save. 23 minutes into the game, Juan Ceresso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guará FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Daustad the free kick. After a rather tough play, Guará FC's Juan Ceresso got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ivo Figueiredo in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Karsten Hveding prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Guará FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Eliézer Eger hit a great ball. Karsten Hveding showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gino do Vale in the 46th minute of the match.

In the 54th match minute, Guará FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivo Figueiredo to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute, Christer Kaland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute Christian Liknes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Guará FC's zone, Christian Liknes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diamantino Catarinense came out of the goal and Christian Liknes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Naldo Peixoto hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. A collision led to Daustad getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Mathias Jordet hit a great ball. Daustad walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
